Hydrogen project map and 30+ climate deals
Also, "The Climate Torch" podcast interviews with Renewal Mill and Prime Impact Fund, how to learn faster by McKinsey, and validating a business idea on $500
21 pages of climate deal flow.
This is one of my favorite reports each month.
The most recent detailed summary from Nomura Greentech covers corporate and asset transactions in sustainable tech and infrastructure — including solar, wind, energy storage, environmental services, water, smart grid, advanced transportation, geothermal, and more. It also highlights hundreds of statistics in public equities — including current share prices relative to 52-week highs, enterprise values relative to EBITDA, leverage ratios, and more financial intel to geek out on.

The Climate Torch podcast interview — Claire Schlemme, CEO of Renewal Mill
Renewal Mill reduces food waste by upcycling the byproducts of plant-based milks to create high-quality okara flour, superfoods, and baking mixes.
Learn more about Claire’s entrepreneurial path, her inspiration to find optimal health after beating cancer in her 20’s, how she partners with a five-time James Beard award-winning chef to make their recipes delicious, their co-creation of the Upcycle Food Association (which will certify upcycled food products and launch in the Fall), and favorite quotes like this one from Jane Goodall:
“The greatest danger to our world is apathy.”

Prime Impact Fund is a $50 million early-stage fund focused on pre-seed, seed, and Series A rounds for companies with the potential to create gigaton-scale carbon emission reductions.

A global map of hydrogen projects.
Law firm Pillsbury has recently launched The Hydrogen Map here. It tracks location, start date, source information, and, when available, investment size and key partners.
Thanks to Mona Dajani for making me aware of this. She is Pillsbury’s global co-leader of the firm’s energy and infrastructure projects team.
As inspiration, consider this related analysis from the International Energy Agency via Reuters:
“Planned investment in clean energy must increase by 30% to a total of $131 trillion by 2050 to avert catastrophic climate change.”
“By 2050, 30% of electricity use will be dedicated to producing green hydrogen and hydrogen and its derivatives, such as e-ammonia and e-methanol.”
How to validate a business idea in less than 30 days and $500.
OK, quick poll…
Raise your hand if you’ve spent far too many months and (tens of? hundreds of?) thousands of dollars pursuing a new business venture without proper validating it?
I’m raising both of my hands and feet. (Oh, so that’s how you levitate!)
To fight that urge for developing a new product without hitting the street and talking to real prospects first, Ryan Robinson has created this monstrous (that’s compliment) guide to a different approach to business launch. What a great service and reminder to entrepreneurs, both young and old!
Plus, the last line in his “About” page is awesome.
How to learn constantly and intentionally.
When this came up in my LinkedIn feed, it hit home.
As they say:
“If you’re not growing, you’re dying.”
Or if that’s too grim, then let’s try this one:
“In a world of change, the learners shall inherit the earth, while the learned shall find themselves perfectly suited for a world that no longer exists.” — Eric Hoffer
This quick read from McKinsey & Company may be a good refresher for you, or a guide for empowering your team to level up through more conscious learning methods.
After all, summer is for learning, right? Or at least that’s what I tell my kids.
That’s all, folks.
Make it a great week, because it’s usually a choice.

P.S. One last mention…If you’re looking for curated content on a wider array of topics — e.g., cryptocurrency, AI, new product development — check out Faves. It’s a new app for sharing handpicked articles from “Silicon Valley's Greatest Minds.” As if “Twitter and Tik Tok had a baby.” And somehow when they launched with their first 100 influencers, I made this list. (Hold on, was my wife somehow involved in promoting me for this?)
